Goals 2010-11

Department Goals:

1. Promote student development and learning through programs and services that prepare individuals for active and invested lives, careers, and community service.
2. Create programs, services, and processes that are collaborative, diverse, and inclusive and provide opportunities for individuals to connect with fellow UNC Asheville and Asheville individuals.

Outcomes:

1. As a result of participation in orientation, students will be able to accurately identify resources and services available to them on the UNC Asheville campus and within the Asheville community.
2. As a result of participation in orientation, students will acquire knowledge of the curriculum requirements at UNC Asheville as demonstrated through successful advising and registration.
3. As a result of participating in orientation, students will be very satisfied with their orientation experience.
4. As a result of participation in the orientation leader program, OLs will demonstrate leadership skills in the following areas: customer service, problem solving, project management, and communication.
5. As a result of participation in P2P SUCCESS/TRANSFERmation, students will be able to identify at least one student with whom they can socialize or participate in educational endeavors.
6. As a result of participation in P2P SUCCESS/TRANSFERmation, students will demonstrate knowledge of resources available on campus to aid in their success at UNC Asheville.
7. As a result of participation in U-LEAD Leadership Theories workshops, students will demonstrate knowledge of leadership theories through evaluative papers.
8. As a result of participation in U-LEAD Personal Leadership workshops, students will articulate their personal leadership style.
9. As a result of participation in the U-LEAD Fall Leadership retreat, students will gain knowledge and experience in networking.

Criteria:

1. 90% of orientation participants will be able to accurately identify resources and services available to them at UNC Asheville and within the Asheville community.
2. 95% of embark participants will be successfully registered by the end of embark orientation.
3. 85% of orientation participants will report, in evaluations, being very satisfied with their orientation experience.
4. 90% of Orientation Leaders will demonstrate leadership skills in customer service, problem solving, project management, and communication.
5. 80% of P2P and TRANSFERmation participants will will be able to identify at least one student with whom they can socialize or participate in educational endeavors.
6. 80% of P2P  and TRANSFERmation, students will demonstrate knowledge of resources available on campus to aid in their success at UNC Asheville.
7. 80% of U-LEAD participants, across the 3 levels, will demonstrate knowledge of leadership theories through evaluative papers.
8. 80% of U-LEAD participants, across the 3 levels, will be able to articulate their personal leadership style, as demonstrated through reflective papers.
9. 80% of U-LEAD Fall Leadership Retreat participants will be able to identify campus leaders with whom they can network.
